PTWBA Championships (10/08/18)
 
The PTWBA Championships were played over the 7th - 9th August at Coleraine Bowling Club, with President Rosemary Lyons and the ladies of Coleaine being the hosts. There were 3 days of very good bowling with some close finishes to matches. It proved to be a very busy time for some of the ladies who were taking part in more than one competition, particularly Pauline Curry and Bernie O'Neill, Portstewart who contested four finals. Thanks are given to the Coleraine ladies for all their hospitality over this period, Jennifer Dowds, Competition Secretary for organising all the games and times, Trevor Steele for stepping in to help with umpiring and for the grounds staff for having the green set up each day.

We extend our best wishes to the ladies who will now go on to the Irish Finals in Bray on the 31st August to 2nd September.
 
Welsh Test Series (23/07/18)
 
Bernie O'Neill (Portstewart) took part in a test series in Wales - 6th - 14th July.There were 10 countries involved, Bernie played in the Ladies Singles competition and finished 3rd overall
 
 
Conratulations (07/07/18)
 
A number of ladies from our Association will be participating in a number of events representing Ireland.
 
Bernie O'Neill (Portstewart) is taking part in a test series in Wales - 6th - 14th July
 
Shauna O'Neill (Limavady) will be taking part in a test match against Scottish young Bowlers on 16th July, she will also be the Vice Captain of the team.
 
Megan Wilson(Ballymena), Megan Morrow(Ballymoney), Jamie Leigh Corscadden, Sophie McIntyre, Shauna O'Neill (Limavady) will playing for the U25 Team in the Junior Internationals in Royal Leamington Spa - 21st - 22nd July.
 
Sarah Jane Curran (Ballymena), Megan Morrow(Ballymoney), Shauna O'Neill (Limavady) will be taking part in a test series in Jersey - 22nd - 25th September.

British Isles Competition / International Series
 
We wish good luck to the ladies representing Ireland in the British Isles Championship on Friday 15th of June at Belmont Bowling club, - Megan Morrow, Mandy Tennant, Barbara Logue and Margaret Johnston (Ballymoney). We wish them every success in the Fours.
 
Also to the ladies from our association, competitng in the International Series from the 17th - 19th June - Sarah-Jane Curran, Jennifer Dowds, Donna McCloy, Erin Smith(Ballymena), Barbara Logue (Ballymoney), Pauline Curry, Bernie O'Neill (Portstewart) and Barbara Cameron, Team Manager every success in this series of matches
 
PTWBA Flag Unfurling

The PTWBA flag was unfurled by the President, Rosemary Lyons, on Monday the 16th April at the Coleraine Bowling Club. The Irish Women’s Bowling Club President, Fran Nielsen and the Presidents from the other Ladies Associations were all in attendance as well as the Mayor of Causeway, Coast and Glens, Joan Baird. After the unfurling some ladies went on the green to play in a competition. Afterwards everyone was entertained to a lovely meal served in the Coleraine Club House.

 
 
 
Commonwealth Games
We wish good luck to all the ladies representing Northern Ireland in the Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast from the 5th of April. We wish Donna McCloy, Erin Smith and Barabara Cameron - Team Manager a successful games

Information
The Portstewart ladies are considering hiring a bus for the Internationals being held at Belmont on Sunday 17th and Monday 18th June. If anyone is interested in going on any of these days please contact their secretary Caroline Murray by Friday 27th April
 
Portstewart Bowling Club will be having 50th Anniversary competition this year - date will be confirmed later  
 
The McMaster Cup will not take place this year
